You are probably already hearing & will keep hearing about #CRA & its relationship to #FOSS. Companies and organizations that DO NOT have your best interest at heart are saying they're represented FOSS' interests with the EU.

If you've ever believed I've spoke truth, believe me now please:

I've examined carefully what all the Usual Suspects™ are up to re: CRA & I am sure:
@fsfe in general & @lexelas in particular are the ones serving our community in the EU re: CRA. Trust them & help them.

We had a great experience at #DebConf25!

We brought our two laptop models and our brand new NUC Box with Dasharo coreboot firmware.

It was great to see how much recognition and interest there was. Between the tech talks and hallway chats, we really enjoyed the spirit of the Debian community.

🙏 Thanks to everyone who visited our stand!
📅 Any recommendations for other FOSS conferences we should join?

@bagder

I'd say this is an opportunity for #FOSS maintainers to collaborate taking advantage of. These companies that have been fortunate to earn tons of money by using open software without contributing back, can no longed do that if they want to keep doing business in the EU.

What could be a good EU based FOSS interest group to manage this smartly, collect _fees_ to distribute to maintainer of the used software.

Does @opencollective have an EU presence?

The stupid, it burns.

It’s of course the Fortune 500 company, as the distributor of a software product or service, that needs to answer that questionnaire.

Some desk jockey got the questions from corporate, and decided to push them to the FOSS components they’re using.

@bagder know this perfectly well, but for everyone else:

If you develop #FOSS, and you get demands like this, tell them to either pay for your time, or fuck off.

They are in no position to demand anything from you.

It's probably a good idea to do another #introduction since people change over time, ideally.

I'm haui. I help people & build things that help people. Big #foss enthusiast, #sysadmin by day and #hacktivist at night.

I think all people (and animals) are born equal and should stay that way.

I oppose #capitalism and embrace alternative systems. I dont care about #corporatedemocracy and manipulated "free speech".

I want thirst, hunger and homelessness gone, for everyone, by any means necessary.

For the past week, I've been so angry and disappointed in the Linux community for being quiet in regards to any kind of celebration to advancing accessibility, but suddenly becoming vocal and supportive when privileged people start writing about how bad accessibility on Linux is while portraying contributors as the devils who don't care about anybody.

I'm so exhausted. I'm so demotivated. The Linux community really doesn't care about accessibility on Linux. No wonder accessibility on Linux sucks. No one wants to work on it because they keep getting bullied and pressured.

TheEvilSkeleton · It’s True, “We” Don’t Care About Accessibility on LinuxWhat do virtue-signalers and privileged people without disabilities sharing content about accessibility on Linux being trash have in common? They don’t actually really care about the group they’re defending; they just exploit these victims’ unfortunate situation to fuel hate against groups and projects actually trying to make the world a better place. I never thought I’d be this upset to a point I’d be writing an article about something this sensitive with a clickbait-y title. It’s simultaneously demotivating, unproductive, and infuriating. I’m here writing this post fully knowing that I could have been working on accessibility in GNOME, but really, I’m so tired of having my mood ruined because of privileged people spending at most 5 minutes to write erroneous posts and then pretending to be oblivious when confronted while it takes us 5 months of unpaid work to get a quarter of recognition, let alone acknowledgment, without accounting for the time “wasted” addressing these accusations.
