Yellow Warblers (Setophaga petechia) are small, agile birds known for their stunning ‘circle flight’ during nest-building.
These little guys perform a semi-circular flight to mark their territory.

Mom (at top left) and dad (at lower right) Scissor-tailed Flycatchers simultaneously bringing food to their nestlings, this morning in Pottawatomie County Kansas.

The very lovely female Red Winged Blackbird perches on the dried cattails on a windy day at the roadside pond in Guelph Ontario Canada. Though not as brilliant as the glossy males, the females are beautiful with their streaky brown plumage.

A great blue heron perched in its normal spot along the fishing pier at Shelley Lake Park in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I took this during the early evening hours which is when you can usually find it there. It is very protective of this spot and will not let other great blues near the area.

A Roseate Spoonbill gently moving its bill that is shaped like a spoon along the shallow water of a local lake. This is how they forage, and they feel for their prey with a side to side motion.

I gave the mud a darker feel in post processing to really highlight the white and pink of this beautiful wading bird.
