Vala<p>You asked for system services written in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Vala" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Vala</span></a>, and even on phones?<br>We present <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/q6meowd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>q6meowd</span></a>, a service for correctly switching between speaker and earpiece audio output on incoming calls by <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@NekoCWD" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>NekoCWD</span></a></span> :<br>meowd: <a href="https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/NekoCWD/q6meowd/-/blob/master/src/main.vala" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.postmarketos.org/NekoCW</span><span class="invisible">D/q6meowd/-/blob/master/src/main.vala</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/postmarketos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>postmarketos</span></a> MR: <a href="https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/merge_requests/5738" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.postmarketos.org/postma</span><span class="invisible">rketOS/pmaports/-/merge_requests/5738</span></a><br>Previously the logic was written in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/C" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>C</span></a>, so isn't this an improvement? :D<br>Also if you are interested in how to write <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ALSA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ALSA</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DBUS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DBUS</span></a> code with Vala, I recommend looking into the sources!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linuxphones" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxphones</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/oneplus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oneplus</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/oneplus6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oneplus6</span></a></p>
Bernie<p>The speaker just said: "...Mediatek heled us (NXP), because until then we were the only ones using ARM, and when they jumped in we could discuss ARM-specific problems with them."</p><p>This is what a healthy open source.project.looks like 👍</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.io/tags/soundopenfirmware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>soundopenfirmware</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.io/tags/zephyr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>zephyr</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.io/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.io/tags/alsa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>alsa</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.io/tags/fosdem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fosdem</span></a></p>

Omar Polo<p>I've release amused 0.11: a minimalistic music player. The major news is <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/ALSA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ALSA</span></a> support, so now it's not limited to <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/sndio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sndio</span></a> only. There are also the usual minor fixes and tweaks, and the addition of a simple client GUI written in Tcl/Tk.</p><p>Since the groundwork for multiple audio backends is in place, I'd be interested in adding more implementations. In particular, OSS and <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/NetBSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NetBSD</span></a> audio(4) should be straightforward to implement but since I don't usually use those OSes I can't test. Any volunteers? :flan_hacker:</p><p>(on <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/freebsd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>freebsd</span></a> it could also use <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/capsicum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>capsicum</span></a>, but again, can't test)</p><p><a href="https://projects.omarpolo.com/amused.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">projects.omarpolo.com/amused.h</span><span class="invisible">tml</span></a></p>
Ercanbrack<p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/linuxtablet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxtablet</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a> So, I am back on <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/endeavouros" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>endeavouros</span></a>, and the install went flawlessly. Everything is identified and working, and my journal log is clear of errors. I also found a simple way to turn off the undesired <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/grub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>grub</span></a> theming. <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pipewire</span></a> is installed and working correctly, and I have <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Reaper" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Reaper</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/surge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>surge</span></a> installed and working. Since I use <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/alsa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>alsa</span></a> for reaper and it hosts my plugins, everything was simply plug-n-play. Both programs scale for <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/hidpi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hidpi</span></a> and I’ll soon test <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/touch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>touch</span></a> screen capability. 😎👍🏼</p>
