Parsingphase<p>I'm also trying to work out if I can run <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/DailyBird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyBird</span></a> next year… various reasons have massively reduced my photographic output this year, and if I do run it it might contain images from several years back rather than just last year. Unlike <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/YesterdaysYardBirds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>YesterdaysYardBirds</span></a>, this one involves a pretty serious manual workload of collecting and captioning 365 (366 next year!) images for preloading.</p>
Parsingphase<p>Rise of the Birdbots 🤖<br>My <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/DailyBird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyBird</span></a> bot now has a younger sibling, <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/YesterdaysYardBirds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>YesterdaysYardBirds</span></a>. This one's based on a microphone detector sitting in my back yard, automatically ID'ing the birdsong it hears, so it's nominally "species present" rather than "species seen".<br>Because, y'know. Thrushes. And Thrashers.</p>
Parsingphase<p>With my <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/DailyBird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyBird</span></a> project now starting its third year of continuous posting, I've written a bit about the images and the technology behind them: <a href="https://parsingphase.dev/photography/dailyBird.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">parsingphase.dev/photography/d</span><span class="invisible">ailyBird.html</span></a><br><a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/Birds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Birds</span></a> <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/BirdPhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BirdPhotography</span></a></p>
Parsingphase<p>Some context on my <a href="https://m.phase.org/tags/DailyBird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyBird</span></a> pics (and bonus bird):</p><p>All photos are taken by myself in the previous calendar year, loaded in December and auto-posted daily. Images are cc:by-nc-nd, but ask about other usage.</p><p>IDs are generally confirmed on iNaturalist.</p><p>Traditional Territory data is courtesy of Native Land Digital (<a href="https://native-land.ca" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">native-land.ca</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>).</p><p>Image descriptions are currently "best-effort" from species; feedback welcomed. Next year's load may carry more manual descriptions.</p>
