I don't want anything that caters for waayy more usage requirements than I need.<br><br>Nano is my preferred editor due to this, I think MCedit is also a very nice editor but prefer Nano.<br><br>Similar to how I like Dolphin file manager, but tend to use MC more as it does the same things in a simpler interface, yet <a href="https://thesocialmedia.feedbackloo.pw/tag/ranger" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Ranger</a> did nothing for me.<br><br>I have yet to find a function I need to use in a text editor that I am unable to do with <a href="https://thesocialmedia.feedbackloo.pw/tag/nano" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Nano</a>, I even switched back from <a href="https://thesocialmedia.feedbackloo.pw/tag/wordgrinder" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WordGrinder</a> to using Nano after a short perio of trying it.<br><br><a href="https://thesocialmedia.feedbackloo.pw/tag/vim" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#vim</a> and <a href="https://thesocialmedia.feedbackloo.pw/tag/emacs" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#emacs</a> are overkill for what I need.<br><br>For a while a few years ago my main install consisted of something like <br><br>tmux +nano + mc + rsync + curl + mailx + sox + imagemagick + irssi +w3m + (framebuffer) mplayer + remind + wyrd + ssh<br><br>With this mix I could still do pretty much everything I needed, I still install many of these on my current installs and while I am not a master in their use , they are easyish to use and powerful.<br><br>I do like CLI/Ncurses apps, always have, so there may be an element of that in my choices.

Is the advantage of <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/nano" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nano</span></a> just that it's in a terminal and you haven't seen any reason to change? Or does it have some active advantage over those?</p><p>(I'm contrasting <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vim</span></a>/#emacs—I know exactly why people use those over <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/sublimetext" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sublimeText</span></a>; they have features you can't get in Sublime)</p>
